Steam library heroes at 3840×1240 are the large banners shown when hovering over or selecting a game in your library. This is the most prominent game art in the client.

Library heroes are the biggest visual representation of your game in the Steam client. They set the mood and reinforce the game's identity every time a player opens Steam.

Missing library heroes show a generic placeholder. Wrong dimensions create awkward scaling or cropping in the library view.

Best practices

Use the crop intentionally

• Use key art that represents the game's tone and visual identity.
• Keep important elements away from edges — the display area varies by screen size.
• The game title is usually overlaid by Steam, so don't include it in the image.
